Welcome to Bumps
Bumps (Best Use of Medicines in Pregnancy) has been designed to provide freely available, reliable, evidenced-based and accurate information about the use of medicines in pregnancy. We review the most up to date evidence to provide you with the risks and benefits of using medicines in pregnancy. We also have an online reporting system offering all pregnant women the option to report their pregnancy, to help better understand how the effects of medicines may affect unborn children.
The Bumps website is produced by the UK Teratology Information Service (UKTIS), a not-for-profit national organisation hosted by the Newcastle upon Tyne hospital NHS Foundation Trust and funded by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) on behalf of the UK Health Departments. UKTIS have been providing scientific information and advice to health care providers since 1983 on the effects that use of medicines, recreational drugs and chemicals during pregnancy may have on the unborn baby.
We are a multidisciplinary team with extensive expertise in medicines in pregnancy.
